now i just need someone to help me pick out a turbo......I want a little less than a 35r, but about 25-30% more than a maxed out stocker........3037????dam i dont know.......I want a solid 28-30 PSI and 420-450 HP to the wheels. I have never run less than 100 octane in the car from day one. Drive it once a month. No racing. Just like to flex the muscle every now and then............

I used to run 110 LEADED all the time for 30K miles, then I switched to Alky injection. How is the nitrous working? do you use that often? what kind of kit wet/dry? I would pm Ludikraut, I think he has the setup you are looking for. I dont think I can get to those numbers with my TME, but close maybe?

I rarely use the nitrous. It needs to be tuned again. Its a wet kit. I want those numbers on a turbo that is in the middle of its effeciency range, not the top end of it. The stocker i think would be out of range for 450 WHP.

Good choice. That is the same GT3076 that I have. It will make 420-450whp easily (Mine makes 435whp on 100oct at 28psi).

i would definatley go with the gt3037. We have been testing with these turbos lately and have learned quite a bit. They work extremely well, and we have seen up to 580 whp, with the potential to go even higher.

2. Do you have to "freshen" the cartridge yearly? (I heard about this by a SAAB turbo guru.)
3. Are there many with a GT35R setup running stock head and internals (besides the ARP rod bolts?)
4. I believe if you go this route (GT35R) you need a new down-pipe to fit.
5. Is using a 35-50 shot of nitrous more effective when needing quicker spool-up while racing, or is a Stroker-kit more economical. For those of us who use it for daily driving as well?

6. I am guessing the most "popular" kit bought is the AMS one. Anyone want to report how they like their RNR/Bushur/Other GT35R kits. I think the only difference is the manifold correct? a GT35 is the same, it just differs on what it "hangs" off of.
1. Just make sure the manifold is properly supported and not just hanging off the block. For example, AMS' has a nice support bracket. Also check to see what kind of material the manifold is made of and how thick it is.

2. no idea, never heard of this ... maybe if you're running anti-lag?

3. Yes, you can run stock internals, but it will limit the powerband and how much boost you can run.

4. Good kits should come with a downpipe

5. I would go stroker over nitrous any day.

6. No, the turbo is not necessarily the same, and the exhaust manifold design will have an impact on not just how much power you make, but, more importantly, spoolup.

580whp with a gt 3037. You mean the gt3037 is bigger then a gt3076. Also whats the differnce between a -11 -12 -13 catridge for the 3076 I always hear about?

+1, very curious. most people seem to recommend against the 3076/37. most ive seen is 450whp on pump and alky. definitely interested in hearing more about this.

But at what cost?

I made 420whp on a white rabbit at 25psi. Thing spools like stock (3100 boost threshold) and like a banshee up top.

But I don't know why I said that, no one's going to believe me.
