open air intakes generally cause a loss in low end power because it's sucking in mostly hot air at low speeds....

I would stick with the stock intake. I dynoed my car last year right after a EVO runing a Ingen intake with the exact same set-up and he put down 4WHP more than me, but I put down 6WTQ more than him. There are other things that could account for the difference in WHP and WTQ, but I felt an after market intake was not worth the money. Also under the stock airbox is a perfect place to hid a MBC from the dealership. In my opinion the stock air box is a great set-up and does not need to be changed unless you are runnning an after market turbo. I do recommend that you purchase only a name brand intake becides K&N. I installed there system in my car when I first purchased the car and removed it the same night and sent it back. In my opinion it is a big peice of S***.
