There really is only one difference in the two, where the O2 sensor is located. On the 8 it is in the Mid pipe, on the 9 its in the cat. Everything bolts up fine. If you have a test pipe wih no sensor hole, you take the O2 and plug it in the mid pipe.

How close does the resonator come to the rear driveshaft connector piece? or maybe its just the Carbon Ti that has the fitment issue?

i just installed an Espelir 2.75" downpipe and a AVO catback on my IX and it fits just fine. Plenty of room to spare around the downpipe. You can purchase the downpipe at RRE:

the HKS Carbon Ti, has no fitment issues. The only thing that is different is the location of O2 sensor.

So what are you guys doing to cover up the O2 sensor hole in the Evo 8 Cat-backs if you leave the stock cat in?

Just plug it with a bolt or spark plug. Pretty simple.

it doesnt...there was nothing that i would consider tight with the fitment... there was plenty of space...even when i grabbed the exhaust pipe and drive shaft and shook the two together they didnt come close to touching

not pretty simple... trying to find someone with an 18mm bolt is impossible it seems...i took it to an exhaust shop that does custom work and had them close the hole up... seemed to work fine

Ok, I have an Evo IX MR and just ordered the greddy Ti system. It is supposed to work just fine except be a little short. I have a carbon bumper shield doodad coming as well....More on this in another thread

But, I have a question - the ti system has the bung in the midpipe and the Evo IX MR has the 02 sensor in the cat. If I re-located the 02 sensor to the midpipe and replaced the cat with a test pipe - would I have a CEL issue? Also, is the harness on the 02 sensor long enough so I can put the 02 sensor on the mid-pipe?

I plan on running the Works ceramic coated downpipe for the MR which is guaranteed to fit!
