But, I have a question - the ti system has the bung in the midpipe and the Evo IX MR has the 02 sensor in the cat. If I re-located the 02 sensor to the midpipe and replaced the cat with a test pipe - would I have a CEL issue? Also, is the harness on the 02 sensor long enough so I can put the 02 sensor on the mid-pipe?

I plan on running the Works ceramic coated downpipe for the MR which is guaranteed to fit!
The answer to all these questions is yes. You can get rid of the cel by all the normal means that owners use. I used the mechanical fix.

Vibrant sells the exhaust plugs that you are looking for. I cant find the part number on the web. I got it through a dealer friend of mine. I will see if I can find the part number for you.

Thanks, Locam! I am still a little new -so, could you kinda highlight what the mechanical fix is? I know the electrical fix is using an CEL eliminator like the one PErrin or Buschur sells, but no so familiar with the mechanical fixes. Thanks!

No prob, a mechanical cel fix is when you use a part to space the O2 sensor out from the exhaust flow. That tricks the sensor into thinking everything is working correctly. Its a nice way to go if you dont want to cut into an O2 sensor wire. I havnt had an exhaust related Cel since I put it in, and thats about 25k miles. If you do a search here you should be able to find one.

HKS Carbon Ti Catback fits perfect. Used a M18x1.5 oil drain plug to seal o2 bunghole (autozone).

i must be special then lol, i installed the hks carbon ti on my ix mr last night and at idle i hear a ticking/rattling noise, and when i was under the car putting the midpipe in, i had very minimal clearance

i gotta get he thing on a lift and see wtf is rattling and prob play with the hangers...

when the car is idle i hear a constant ticking, and when i start the car i hear a loud metallic ticking noise

i dont hear anything when driving tho...

there's a bolt that sticks out pretty far, right where the exhaust meets the cat. it's attached to a bracket that goes up and over the exhaust (for a heat shield i think).

i listened to it again today while idling, and its a constant ticking...

would an exhaust leak make that kind of noise?

well i found out the noise i was hearing was in fact an exhaust leak where the midpipe flange joins to the cat and NOT the exhaust hitting the driveshaft...

played around with the midpie for a few mins, got a good seal, and no noise!

its not hitting the driveshaft...i love the exhaust now lol

I will be running a test pipe with my TBE on my IX MR.

The test pipe (used) has a bung in it, which is currently plugged with a bolt.

The mid pipe also has a bung in it for the O2.

1) Is it adventagous to put the O2 into the test pipe location (and remove the corroded plug), or just put it in the mid pipe. Would I avoid a CEL one way or the other?

2) Will I have to extend any wires for the O2 sensor to reach the mid-pipe location?

Thank you for any insight.
