would possibly be worthwhile to look into rear diff carrier bushings. from what I can remember from a conversation with a friend, the rear diff bushings are soft and launching with the stock bushings could cause damage to the rear diff when it hops. if im incorrect with this let me know

motor mounts and a torque damper would help a lot with that. so would lower tire pressure and warmer track conditions.

You can also roll through the water box before you pull up to the line without doing a burnout, this will allow the tires to spin a little on the launch.

Slipping the clutch is probably the easiest way to CREATE wheel hop as it is likely to chatter when let out gradually, not to mention frying your clutch. At 5k rpm, you should be able to drop it all the way and just go.
So you are saying I should rev to the limit, let up on the clutch to right before it grabs then drop it? This just does not seem right to me... This is what I did when I got the wheel hop. I have reved to about 3k and slipped the clutch while giving it more gas, and it seemed to take off ok with no clutch burn. I didn't feather it, I let it up easy, but quickly.

giving more gas while letting up on the cluth is riding the cluth. you could burn the cluth more that way unless it already caught on.

This guy does not need parts suggestions to avoid wheel hop. He either needs to raise his tire pressure, or launch with more of a feather as opposed to a dump.

Today I did my first launch since the install of the Ingalls stiffy and Ksport coil overs. I still have bad wheel hop in the front. I am using the Advan Neova's in 245/40/17 and tire pressure around 38. It is cold outside too.

I used the two step, slipped the clutch, and all hell broke loose. I let off as quick as I could so I wouldn't damage anything. I don't know what else I can do to remedy this problem.

I am using an Exedy triple carbon clutch.

I was going to say to drop the tire pressure. Are you sure about raising it? My buddy that used to work on a top fuel team told me to try dropping it to around 26 psi if I got wheel hop. I would think you would want the sidewall flex to soak up the hopping but, you are the drag expert.

dropping tire press will help with traction but i dunno ho wmuch it will help with stopping wheel hop...then again i don't even no how you can get wheel hop from the rear...considering you get front wheel hop because of the rotory motion of the crank causing the engine to kick back. which is why solid MM are helpful

Dropping tire pressure will increase traction, and he will bog. He needs just a little less traction to spin normally and not wheel hop. This may be different at different power levels and with stronger clutches, but in my experience from stock to now, I only got wheel hop when there was a combination of EXTREME traction along with trying to launch very hard. Sticky launch pad + low tire pressure + high rpm near-dump = nasty REAR wheel hop.

I am not enough of a drag expert to explain wheel hop, but I do know what I've experienced. I don't get wheel hop from regular spinning when I lose traction. I get it with too much traction.
