Clutch pedal adjustment.....when?

I read about adjusting the clutch pedal and its seems pretty easy to do. How do I know when its time to adjust my pedal? I still have stock clutch with 16,500 miles.

Yeah it does. Sometimes when I shift into 2nd or 3rd gear the stick don't want to go all the way and I end up missing the shift. Does that mean a clutch pedal adjustment is needed?

Or maybe a synchro issue? Didn't our 03s have a recall of some kind for the 2nd and 5th gear synchros?

Why not just adjust the pedal a bit and find out if it improves shifting? By raising the engagment point you are reducing the free play and increasing the travel of the release bearing to disengage the clutch earlier and farther. Once adjusted, it shouldn't need it again. The hydraulics are self-adjusting for wear.

Id take it to the dealer and see what they have to say. I got my first and fourth gear syncro's replaced even with my mods. You can try adjusting the clutch pedal but if it is a syncro going out it would be better to have it replaced under warranty.

If it's the syncro going, adjustment won't help at all. It seems like all that most dealers know how to do is replace parts, not diagnose the problem or the cause so why rely on them? Why not adjust the clutch and find out for yourself. It might cost you 10 minutes of your time.
