runing down pipe only
Most of the people running DP and cat delete are claiming more power and better spool up not to mention that the prestigious magazine Turbo tested a XS engineering downpipe on their yellow 03 Evo and got 22whp.
It should also give you more boost as well. I haven't heard of any undafe conditions by running a DP and a cat delete

i did that for a bit. i loved the gain and spool up was instand. turbo it full boost by 2800 rpm. then i put a cat back straight pipe (no muffler). i lost a lot a torque and the turbo will take must longer to hit full boos,t, but the car is a lot faster.. i am about to switch back to my stock cat back.
I have Tomei O2, DP and cat delete. The power increase is very very noticable and spools very quickly. However, I have heard from a number of people do run the dp with a high flow cat with good results. I don't know how well it will go with the stock cat however. In fact, I heard that the cat in the JDM MR is ilghter and higher flow than the non-MR models.
I am assuming that you are talking about running the dp with some kind of aftermarket exhaust. Most dp's are larger than the stock pipe and the change of section will prolly cause a funny noise when you lift the throttle.

I'm running a dp and cat delete with stock exhaust right now. The gains are very noticable in the low end, but power seem's to "choak" in the high range. Good for low to mid power/tq, but opening it up aka exhaust, is the way for more peak high end power.

Turbo outlet - stock [you didn't say]
Dp - aftermarket [open downpipe = some kind of aftermarket stuff]
Cat - stock [you're wondering about running 'del cat also']
Cat back - stock ['i don't have cat back on car'- I assume this is what you mean]
Is this correct? I'm confused...
If you're running this setup, I'd say gain would be minimal since all the stuff with high pressure drop are still there. And in so many words, I'd say it's pointless. If you're wondering about running this without a cat, Cloud has the info.
hehe ok well. to make more clean this is all i have on car. br 3in dp with del cal and the exuset dumps out to the mid of car. so there is no cat back on car. yes very loud but i think loud as when full 3in tbe was on. just that is it in the mid of car. and i hear it a lot more. kind of sucks but so much fun. so think taking it off i gain more power then from befor.
If you want to melt all the plastics under you hood (sensors etc) and gain next to nothing or possibly lose performance. If you take off the DP the exhaust will flow out the turbo under your hood and significantly raise underhood temps. Cooling will be a lot more inefficient = loss in performance ... infact you might be melting things under you car right now as we speak (rust protector). Not a good idea, IMHO ...
the dp is on. with a del cal . what dont you understand there is just no cat back. what do you think i would run no dp and just run open turbo no. lol i have more or less like a cut out. but its always open just just for racing. but car is only a race car not a fun lets go drive to the beach.
i have a cutout/test pipe and dp....the car is loud as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck when its open..but the thing moooooooooooooves...then i close it when i have a headache and it sounds stock, but has a horrible smell from having no cat....idk how much its helping...but i ran a 13.2 @ 108.7 my 60' was a 2.1....so with better driving i'd say it made a difference..
