New Tilton Clutch/Pics/Install
This are a few pics of the Tilton Cluch Install today.
Took the car there and they were done in a day. Very clean install.
The Titan crew took this pics. They came out good. This Titan/EvoStore guys are fantastic. Very clean job, and I am very fuzzy. Take a look in the 1st. pic. That is Ross, one of the Titan Tech starting the job. I like all the Supras they go in there. Some monsters. The 2nd. pic is the tranny out showing the hydrolic bearing. The 3rd. pic shows the old clutch. I have not taken pics of the dis-assembled old unit. I will in the next few days. The 4th pic is the Tilton right in there.

how hard is it to install a clutch... do you have to basically rip everything off from under the car and take out the transmission? Does the tranny stay up there or you have to drop that sucker down to change the clutch?

Thanks guys.
I got it done at the Evostore Shop. The guys there are great. I got the Hybrid Tilton. It is cerametallic/organic. The clutch is small compared to the larger stock/heavy unit. It engages very nice, you have to give it a little gas to make it turn, or it will stall. Mine feels like stock when the pedal is pushed. When shifting the gears, the shift feels less notchy than the stock. One of my budys sayed to me 'it feels like a Vete clutch'. So far so good. It was very notisable that the engine revs quicker. It does have a distint sound when leting off the gas. I been told is because it is a twin disk. This one I am hoping to last me same or more than the stock one did. It is rated for tons of power. I was impressed with the stock set up. The F.wheel and P.Plate, including disk, look above average quality. The stock one lasted me over 25 plus thousand miles, making 300 plus whp for the last 8 months and with many track passes, I think Mitsubishi did a great job selecting the stock clutch. Good luck to all of you doing this Tilton clutch or wanting to get one. Let us know how you like it, just like I am doing. I recommend you get several quotes and go with the best one. Give a call to the Evostore, for a shot. I recommend them for either parts/labor.

I love that hydraulic conversion they have for the clutch. I can't imagine that thing ever wearing out or being noisy.
As for the cerametallic, its only 1600 bucks!!
The carbon/carbon unit is more than twice that....and for a street car I think that the cerametallic is a good choice. Please post long term driving impressions...

i just installed this tilton my self, and it is smooth as butter...it is not easy to do on your garage floor on jack stands, BUT a motorcycle jack makes getting the tranny up and down very easy...the only thing i dont like about the clutch is the decel noise...other than that, it is great...
