Tial BOV with a flash

Ive searched on the issue and some say the car drives fine and I believe dynoflash has said you cannot flash for VTA but Id like some more concrete answers.

I have an AMS UICP with a Tial BOV I got for christmas and have since sold my JDM MR BOV which worked great. After I install this I know there will be driveability issues but can a reflash help with that? I dont know if it could since if im correct the ECU is expecting that air so it adds fuel for it but since it will VTA there will be a short period of richness. Also, if anyone has a Tial BOV on the stock computer could you comment on the driveability?

Comments about why use a VTA BOV when you can just recirculate are not necessary, I know that already but it was a gift and my girlfriend doesnt understand anything.

Im sure plenty will chime in and tell ya to search...

Anyhow, you need a MAF translator and run a GM MAF sensor. With that, you can run any VTA BOVs and not suffer drivability. There is also the AEM EMS...

No flash will correct VTA BOVs.

Just get an AEM EMS and switch to speed density. You are in that league anyway. Reflash may help a little, but it has to do with the lost metered air. Yes car will run rich on shifts and could idle funky.

Venting to atmosphere is not an issue of the tune but how the engine determines how much fuel is required.

When you get a reflash that is supposed to accomodate a atmospheric blow off valve it basically is leaning out the fuel because it expects to lose some air between shifts.

Any time you have a mass air you gotta recirculate that air. Go aem ems to vent to atmosphere. And when you do, come to me!

This is going exactly like I thought it would which is why Ive been thinking the AEM EMS is in my future. Its just so dang expensive.

I have a Tial and a flashed ECU. Screw using an AEM, unless you live in no emissions land and you want to spend a lot of money. I and quite a few others on here use Maftpro. I run speed density and HAVE NOT encountered a problem using it, even after my 3700 mile trip. Im sure TTP will chime in here sooner or later.

Hey dryad001, Im actually also located in milwaukee which means I have to deal with emmisions however we have a house up north so I just register my car there and no more emissions. Ill check into the MAFT pro though, Thanks!!

Yes, MAFTPro with speed density means you have a super fuel and boost controller, no MAF + VTA OK!

Meth injection compatible.
