Full TB review on Evo 9 , please read

Hi,

I wish to share some information regarding the TB for Evo 9. First of all, my TB cosnist of :
Megan racing 3" Downpipe with flex section
Works HF 3" cat
Greddy EvoII 3" cat back

Who on this forum knew that the stock cat on a Evo 8 and a Evo 9 are different?, well, they are different, while the Evo 8 has the O2 sensor plugged into the mid section(after the cat) , the Evo 9 has the o2 sensor plugged into the actual cat which by the way is flattened on the top, everything else is the same.

Greddy customer service couldn't confirm fitment of their Evo II exhaust on a Evo 9 so I took the risk and I ordered the Greddy Evo II cat back for a Evo 8 hoping that it will fit on a Evo 9.

Based on research, I guessed well, the Evo 8 and the Evo 9 are nearly identical on the botton.

The Downpipe(Megan racing) fits well however the flex section is a bit too big and is rubs the oil pan and the differential/tranny but it fits well.

Please, be aware that if you decide to go with a full 3" cat back you will have to order at least one extra set of 3" gasket for the cat back/mufler section and /or for the 3" cat(it requires two gasket, one on each side).

Always use the 3' gasket, other wise you wouldn't have a full 3" exhaust. The car picked 3 peak PSI of boost and that is WITH a cat.

Please , feel free to PM for questions. I have to take some more pics from the botton because I have to go back and reinstall a 3" gasket (I was one short).

Good luck!!

Pic #1 was from this weekend, stock exhaust and peaking a max of 19PSI
Pic #2 was minutes after I installed the 3"TB with a cat, 3psi more with the full exhaust

very nice review and pics! you had the ovaries to go with a 3 inch DP and not knowing if the greddy exhaust would fit!

did the works hi-flow come with the O2 bung in it?

what the does the butt dyno say on the whole TBE?

LOL, you are funny!! The Works HF cat does not come with the 02 Sensor. The o2 Sensor goes in the top of the cat and the cat is flat in the top.

I will load a couple of pics of if.
