Right, that's not the Forge RS. That's a Forge 1g-style BOV. We are talking abou the fully-adjustable Forge RS.

can you adjust the flutter out with the adj. rs. because it wasn,t just the fluttering bothering me the hole car would buck and thats not fun on a hairy turn coming off the gas in boost if you know what i mean.

It's not a matter of "adjusting flutter out." It all comes down to how stiff the BOV is. If it's very stiff, then part-throttle driving in top gear will cause compressor surge (bucking). This "flutter" concept is just a side effect of the real issue - compressor surge. If you tighten the RS, you will have more surging. If you loosen it, you will have less. If that's ALL you care about is never experiencing compressor surge ever under any circumstance, then the compromise is a weaker spring that doesn't hold boost as well.

i know the fluttering is the product of comp surge which isnt good for the turbo obviously so i guess the 1g is perfect for me like i said absolutely zero surge and it holds the boost perfectly. for an inexpensive bov it works great and does what its suppose to do, i had the same problem on my 03 and it cured that too but i had to crush that one because i was running a little higher boost with cams

that's the problem, though. YOu think it holds boost perfectly, but the 1g uncrushed leaks around 16-17psi. If you are running 21psi daily, then the turbo is having to work harder to maintain that 21psi. You can't go by your boost gauge when saying the BOV is holding boost. You have to pressure test it. Remember, the 1g bov came stock on 1gs that only ran 11psi from the factory. The stock 14b turbo was capable of running 21psi, but it was not really useful for us to do that unless we crushed the BOV. That's why you have 0 compressor surge - it opens up easily under light pressure.

You say you crushed the previous one because of cams, but cams don't determine your boost level - octane does. You run 21-22psi on 93oct whether you have cams or not, and the BOV doesn't care if you have cams - only what boost you're running. I would think your 1g bov needs to be crushed.

i put the crushed 1g from my 03 on the br when i got home to ny from medina to see if there would be a difference and it worked just like the uncrushed one david sent me no surge and smooth idle. so you think i should put the crushed one on or put the forge back on and play with the springs and washers and just try and get it as surge free as possible, or go with the forge rs, your help is greatly appreciated.

I don't think you need to spend anymore money, so I won't suggest the Forge RS, unless you plan on running race gas or alky with higher boost later in the life of the car. If so, get the RS and don't look back (won't need another one). If you're interested in great drivability with minimal leaking on pump gas at 21psi, I say to stick with the crushed 1G for daily driving.
