Read the summary text, Rich!

Al is coming tomorrow night for a 2-day tuning trip, so he's going to retune me for all the ported stuff, the BR filter, and the alky. My dyno may be a bit messed up, though, with all this extra stuff and no additional tuning yet. That's why I'm thinking of doing some fine-tuning with the SAFC while on the dyno...

Thanks for posting the pictures. Very nice stuff we sell

The Turbine housing. If you notice the entire housing is no port matched. The outlet of the actual turbine wheel is where we spend the time porting. The wastegate portion doesn't gain anything at all and we don't spend much time in that area.

Did you notice the turbine housing deeper inside near the turbine wheel?

DSMmotorsports,

I hate the water getting in there too. Wait until you see what we have cooking

Yeah, Dave, I think the pictures show the drastic difference in the interior space of the turbine wheel opening, but not much in the wastegate side. In fact, if the pics don't quite illustrate, I can say from seeing them in person that the difference was impressive.

I'm very pleased with everything and can't wait to take advantage of it all...

We've already talked about this ad nauseam in my previous threads and in Buschur's manifold-testing thread where he randomly threw on this Ebay O2 in place of his own stock ported/coated o2 housing and picked up 13whp/12wtq. It's possibly that it's not made well, but Dave's opinion is that it is very nice and that it picked up great power over the stocker, so I'm trying it out for him (and for everyone) on my regular Evo, which is not built up and just has basic mods. We will see how it works and how well it holds up to a full season of intense racing...

so are you going to get retuned yet again after getting cams installed?

Excited to see your results. I'd love to get alcohol injection but it seems way too expensive of an upkeep...do you plan to keep buying those containers of alcohol? They're pretty expensive...

Well, $12 for 1 gallon every two weeks (2 tanks of gas) isn't so bad. Also, if I order the 5-gallon jug, that's only $41, which makes is $8 every two weeks. I think methanol costs a lot less than this, too, but it's harder to source. Either way, it's far more economical than running on race gas full time (even 100oct is $4.99/gal). The small additional cost is worth it to me to be able to drive daily in race gas mode...

Yes, of course, I will get retuned after adding cams.

Hmm...now that you put it so it doesn't seem that bad.

How much does TSF charge for installations on the alky kit?

Where did you have your alky kit controller mounted?

Hope you have a redyno with the cams and tuning.

It was TSF's first alky install. They will likely charge for 3 hours of labor, though, with future installs.

I mounted the controller against the side of my center console adjacent to the shifter. The length of the cables kept me from doing it up on the steering column or somewhere like that. I don't know if some people's cables are longer or if they extend them somehow, but my choices were very limited due to the cable length.

I will redyno after the cams+retune, but by then (Jan 31), I will probably be in CO at 6000'.

Well put, I believe that I will be doing the same thing pending your results with the ported parts...At least I will try to make it to summer without changing the turbo. The 20g-9 is looking very promising though..

Yes methanol is around $3/gallon in oregon. You can get it at some places that carry chemicals.

I had to buy a drum of it to get that price but now I have a lot of it.

Warrtalon,

I would love to hear a detailed review of how the isntallation of these parts affected your custom dynoflash. Most interested in the "significant anomalies." I have ordered all the same parts. I would like to install them but don't have any means of tuning until april or so. Depending on the results of your testing, I might wait on the install until Al comes back to the northwest. Thanks.

There's nothing magical about the wires coming out of the controller. They are just regular wires that you can cut, extend, etc. I would put the controller where you like it. The only thing I'd keep as short as possible is the boost line. I really like having the controller in the change compartment, though I'm tempted to move the LEDs up to eye level on the dash.
