Buschur ported & coated parts install (pics)

Gigantamous props go out to Dave Buschur, Mike from Forge Motorsports, and TheSpeedFactor for this most recent improvement!

Well, here we go. Here are the things we did today at TheSpeedFactor:

1 gallon of 100% denatured alcohol in the alky tank, Buschur Racing Air Filter Kit, Forge WGA (19-24psi red spring), Buschur ported/coated stock exhaust manifold, Buschur ported/coated stock 10.5 hotside, and Ebay Stainless Steel Tubular o2 Housing

Engine Bay Before Install

Engine Bay After Install

Old Turbo System

New Turbo System

Unported stock hotside-to-mani connection (notice black ledge inside the gasket)

Ported stock hotside-to-mani connection (notice it is gasket-matched)

Unported stock 10.5 (notice thick, black ledge again and restrictive inner diameter)

Ported stock 10.5 (gasket-matching is better and MUCH more open space)

Unported stock o2 housing (holy crap, it's restrictive)

Ebay o2 housing (uhm, yeah)

More engine bay shots:

I'm not retuned for the ported parts yet, and I still need to dial in the boost on the UNOS w/soft spring now that I have the Forge WGA on there, but in some 1st and 2nd gear pulls on the way home, the boost seemed to be around 18-19psi with the UNOS set to 0. I've turned it a few clicks, but haven't gone back out yet and haven't done any boosting in 3rd, which is what I need to do.

Tomorrow, I will by dyno'ing with the new parts (yeah, intake, too) with my previous custom Dynoflash that isn't designed for this stuff yet, but we will see what happens. I might play with my SAFC if I see significant anomalies in the tune after adding this stuff just to see what numbers I get, however, I will be getting a full retune by Al Sunday night with the alky active. The fuse is pulled right now on the alky kit, so it won't be active on the dyno.

I have installed the same parts in 3 evos allready and were bought from Buschur. The coating he uses is awesome. The porting is outstanding and the engine bay looks 10x nicer. I give a thumbs up for the parts. Warrtalon good luck and let us know on the dyno runs. You are on your way to the elevens .

I don't want to speculate on the spoolup until I hit the dyno tomorrow. That way instead of trying to judge it off hitting full boost on the street while watching my tach. However, I did a 3rd gear pull just a minute a go with a roll-on into boost from 3000rpm, and I could be wrong, but the boost was almost instantaneous - earlier than 3500rpm. I'm used to it being 3600 or even 3800, but I will show comparisons on the dyno tomorrow from previous times in 3rd gear on that same dyno.

Actually, Buschur will be COATING their allotment of Ebay O2 housings, but I didn't have time to wait, because I had to have everything installed by today.
