AMS LICP- No bumper removal?

Hey,

Recieved my AMS lower IC pipe today in the mail. Shipping was great and had no problems with the order or anything. Overall a very pleasant buy.

I was, however, wondering if it was possible to do this install without removing the front bumper. I'm pretty sure removing the undertray is still a must--which I've heard is a pain. Can anyone here who's done this without removing the bumper speak up? As far as I could tell there's no write up for it.

I guess its possible to do it without removing the front bumper, just get some ramps or a jack, remove the undertray, remove the stock LICP and replace with the AMS LICP.

licp

I have already picked up a licp, and got under the car and I am going to have to remove the front bumper or at least remove it partialy to access the mounts that hold the pipe in place, and how the hose is situated that you can't get to it without removing the bumper a little. So i have been waiting for some warmer weather. If you figure something out let me know

I got mine on without removing the bumper. The clamps on the hose to the intercooler inlet were tough to get but it still took less time than taking the bumper off.

You don't need to remove the bumper however there is a bolt(I think 12mm) that is up there and you need a longer wrench. I did mine without removing the bumper

Yea--Mine too.
Except I'm giving it my shot tomorrow.
Is it a tough reach? I managed to get the MBC installed without removing the IC pipe or the radiator fan. Not really sure if that was an achievment or a stubborn act of stupidity.

It takes all of 5 minutes to remove the bumper with the undertray out, work smarter not harder.

NOT possible without removing bumper, especially since you have to remove the oil cooler guide off the bumper to get it to fit

The only thong you really need to worry about are the two bolts holding the stock LICP on. I'm not sure if thats what you were talking about.

Do you have the AMS pipe on your car, I tried countless times to get it to fit with the oil cooler guide on the bumper but it just hits it and will not fit with it on the bumper. I have pics to send if anyone would like to see.

I have had the same AMS LICP on both my EVO VIII & IX. I made minor adjustments when re-installing the bumper. (one person puts on bumper, one person moves LICP)

Ive installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled licp's about 7 times and every time i have taken off the bumper. It just makes the job a lot easier and its really not that hard to take the bumper off. After doing it a couple of times you get really good at it too and it becomes second nature.
