Deciding on one or the other. Panning to go with a dynoflash more than likely. I heard the stock ecu has multiple maps that it switches betweens. Do flashes take advantage of this (ie. to switch octane maps)? Sine I have a IX, I was told the SAFC wasn't worth tuning with due to the MIVEC, but I have yet to hear from someone who has tried. Thoughts?

 

Get the custom tune! The results I thus have seen make me want to throw up when comparing to my 04

 

Definately a flash, more parameter such as boost and mivec can be controlled.

 

+1 ^ The SAFC only manages fuel. A Flash manages Fuel, Timing and MIVEC. This will produce more torque than the SAFC.

 

The IX Dyno Flash optimizes the MIVEC table to match your mods - controlls boost - adjusts all 6 ignition maps and also controls both fuel maps

In addition the two step rev limiter is raised and the main rev limiter

Comparing a proper reflash to a safc is like comapring a machine gun to a sling shot - IMHO

On the Evo 8, you may have been able to get half way acceptable results using a SFAC - (just lakcing any degree of low end tq and smoothness) - however, on a EVO IX using a SAFC is like pissing into a head wind, you will wind up with **** all over your pants.
