needs some clarification

Im buying an evo and i need some clarification. I have heard the stock ecu is very sensitive to mods in that the adaptation may acutally cause the engine to lose power. In order to keep the factory warranty i just want to do an intake and exhaust. Will i run into any problems?

The intake can make u loose power without a tune. You won't get alot out of the exhaust without a tune.

Not true. The Evo responds great to mods. Adding an exhaust just adds 15-20 whp.
Getting the ECU reflashed is also quite easy and there are a lot of vendors that can do that for you. You will not need to do an intake as the stock air box is actually very good.

If, however, you are looking at a IX then you will definitely want a reflash as the ECU will compensate for the increased flow of an exhaust and you will not yield much power. That being said a IX with an exhaust and reflash produces some truly amazing results.

Good luck.

BTW -- I went with Vishnu and have been very happy
