If you get the Revolver cams, then you should get cam gears.
From what I've read abou those cams on EvoM, they are similar to the HKS 280s and would give you a very lumpy idle and have the possibilty of stalling; requiring the use of cam gears.
It's really a matter of preference nonetheless.

I think it will just come down to how much you really want out of your car and also how much you are willing to spend. When you are add hp to your car and getting it tuned it may be a good thing to have them. Spend 300 for 15-20hp, I think its worth it.

I have the works cams 269/269 and I don't have cam gears as they said they aren't needed. I was wondering though has anyone used cam gears on the works cams? If so did you make any power? I would like to try it to see if it would make power but I don't want to be throwing my money away.

The 'bigger' the cams, the more useful cam gears. For short duration cams (e.g. HKS 264s), the benefits will not be as profound.
Those who balk at cam gears don't know how to use them, period. Assuming that aftermarket cams are all optimally timed for all applications is like saying that one size shoe always fits. With big cams and a capable tuning device (and a good tuner), a coordinated change in cam timing can bring about significant power gains, quicken spool, etc.
Changes in cam timing is a tool for the skilled - like changing ignition timing.
