Boost controller HKS EVC V and Fuel cut?

Hi, just talked to HKS and they have a EVC V that can display in PSI instead of Kpa, but cost around 725 retail. I have a question here for those that had boost controller installed.. Does the EVO 8 has the fuel cut? I know that I can replace with the factory computer with the HKS Pfcon or with any piggy back computer like the s-afc.

If the EVO 8 has the fuel cut problem like my old FC3s, does the piggy back computer eliminate the need for a FCD? fuel cut defenser?? will the s-afc do the work? Thanks!!

ps Any comments on the greddy e-manage?? I heard that you need the software to manage the operation and the software comes seperately...

there is a reason for the fuel cut and its cause stock fuel system really shouldn't be forced (or made to) to deliver fuel for anything above about 1.4 bar. If your gonna boost it get a better fuel system and tune it right.

My 2 cents

Get a boost controller, increase the boost by 0.1 increments until you hit the cut. I was able to initially boost my car up to 1.3 bar without any fuel cuts, while other evo owners would experience them with anything over 1 bar.

A SAFC will surely remedy that problem. After that get enthused, crank up the boost, and blow your engine.

I think you want power and not boost. After a certain point your stock turbo is just heating up air and you don't make any more power. Better to consider upgrading the turbo to a larger unit and get a fuel management unit like the E-Manage and tune on the dyno. That will be a better way to go. THe E-01 from Greddy has a nice display and interfaces with the E-Manage to control both timing and boost. E01 with E-Manage is about $1000 or so.

Running a F-Con V Pro or F-Con S will control and allow adjusting of Fuel and Ignition timing. You will still need some form of EVC to control boost pressures.
