Bleeding ACD
Theres no need to bleed it. Theres a local guy here that has done a few 05's and recently a IX clutch and you dont have to bleed it. As Scott(ttenginerring) said, as long as you dont disconect the hydraulic lines, its good to go

scantool. There may be occasions when bleeding the ACD is necessary, and it would be nice to have that info available for those who need it.
so maybe it does work? can anyone else confirm? i know you can change the clutch without disconnecting the line so bleeding isn't neccessary, but lets say i want to send my transfer case to shep or tre for strengthening, then it needs bled when it is reinstalled.

shepard replied in an email that it's safe to drive unbled to the dealer to get bled as long as you disable the ACD prior to driving. it shouldn't hurt any components, just make your car seem like it has an open diff instead of LSD. i suppose by disable he meant to unplug the ACD computer in the passenger kick panel or maybe there is a fuse or relay somewhere for it that would be easier to get to?
Got me curious. I just did the clutch on my 05, I took the ACD line off just long enough to get the bolt out then put it back on till I had to put the TC back on then took it back off to put the bolt in then put ACD line back on. The whole time it was off I let the line hang low so the fluid would run out, as to not send air back in the line.
Do I need to bleed? If the system were malfunctioning (air in the system) wouldn't all 3 lights light up like the owners manual says it will when something is wrong with the system?
