Well there's tranny, acd fluid, and transfer case fluid. Which is it you're looking for?

OK just making sure as you said (tranny). I searched a few local auto stores and wound up getting it from the dealer. I don't remember it being expensive.

Danj: if you wind up pulling the ACD bolt on the top fo the TC.
Noogles: no, if you're trying ot prime it to bleed it just turn the key to off, then to on and hit hte gas. It will prime itself.

I have an '05 EVo 8. Replaced the clutch and bled the ACD by turning on the key and flooring the gas pedal with the engine off. We did get some air out of the system and thought we were good to go. Well it didn't work. With my sticky tires on and under high cornering load at the track the 3 lights came on and the inside (unloaded) tire got all the power. Very frustating.

So I bled the system again. When you floor it with the ignition on in the run position the pumps runs just like it should. Thought I got more air out of it. Next time at the track same thing. I've bled it when the car is hot, cold, let the pump run then opened the bleeder, opened the bleeder before the pump ran, opened the bleeder in the middle of the pump cycle, bled it in all the 3 modes. So far no luck I still have problems.

If you are doing a clutch install I'd highly recommend trying to figure out a way to not remove the ACD line.

I have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow with the high hopes that they will be able to fix it. I'll post my results.

Does anyone on here have a membership at www.mitsubi****echinfo.com? There should be information on there about bleeding the ACD.

I was able to get the pump to run using the bootleg method, but not for long periods of time. The first time trying after applying power to the ECU was the best. Subsequent tries were pretty worthless. Hook up the MUT to it and that POS will pump the entire reservoir dry in about 4 seconds. That'll get any air out...

I leave it the turning the ignition on and hitting the gas and it has worked fine both times I did it.....Top to bottom bleed at the bleeder and no probs....I guess that is a smart thing to though if not necessary.

That is the way to do it. Adding a one man bleeder kit to the nipple would help also.
