If your just looking to get the noise remove your stock airbox and put a cone filter on. The stock BOV makes just as much noise as an aftermarket one.

BOV's don't cause that trouble code.....your problem is something else

I'm 99% sure it did in this case. Here's why:
1. I have stock boost control. No MBC or anything. So if it wasn't the BOV, then it's the stock boost controller which I doubt.

2. Check out the last post in

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ight=p0234+ecu

...its the MAF sensor and the curve.. the ECU expects a particular MAF Hz (Airflow) reading at particular RPM's and load, if the MAF value is higher than its max reading for a particular RPM, it throws an overboost code.
What happened was I was getting on the freeway at high but not full throttle with some modulation. This caused the BOV to open as I backed off, but the turbo was still fully spooled. The sudden release of pressure caused the turbo to draw in a lot of extra air and the MAF readings were way off for the current engine load. This caused the p0234 overboost CEL.

Pulling the VTA BOV won't do any harm and if the error comes back, I know it's a problem somewhere else.
