stroker kit plus gt35r...

hey guys, ive been reading up on stroker kits, and it seems that they are the way to go for power. i was wondering what horespower range i would be looking at with a 2.3l stroker kit and a gt35r turbo. also with that much power what else needs to be changed other than the clutch. how well is the transmission, transfer case, differentials etc. going to hold up. thanks.

the stroker won't necessarily get you more power....it'll basically give you 10% more torque and 400-500 earlier spool. Thus, running a gt35r on a stroker is a lot more streetable than on a 2.0. the only tradeoff is that you can't rev a stroker as high as you can a 2.0.

Also, your numbers will completely depend on your supporting mods, tune, and fuel type you go with. obviously, running it with minimal supporting mods, flash, and pump gas will get you a lot less awhp than if you run all the supporting bolt-ons, stand-alone, and race gas or pump/alky/meth.

if you went with all the supporting mods and pump gas, you'd be looking at around 450 whp...and that includes new clutch(to handle the power), front mount, cams, retune/aem tune, ic piping, injectors, full exhaust, etc....

your transmission, tc, differentials should be alright....although evodave has busted a couple of differentials so maybe you should ask him.

just my .02, hope this helped.

According to AMS a stroker should net you about 50 more ponies alone. This makes sense as you are increasing displacement. The resulting earlier spool is due to more exhaust gasses leaving the cylinders. As for Revs, as long as the stroke isn't over square you can run that puppy as high as the 2.0. Only when you start extending the rod length do you need to bring the rev limit down.
