Aftermarket ignition needed?

I have a bad coil. Well, I'm pretty sure I do. It has low voltage and burnt one of my plugs. My mods are in the sig, but not anywhere near 400 WHP, even on a dynojet. I may upgrade to a 20g turbo, but that would be it. I guess the question is, at what stage do you need an aftermarket ignition setup? Thanks ahead for the help.

Every evo is different, some need it at 300whp while others at 350whp and some at 400whp+, it all depends on your evo

Unless you're running >~25psi, you don't need to be concerned about it.

Bushur coil on plug? I have the HKS DLI II twin power spark amplifier, and am happy with that!

That's what I'm hoping. Guess you just have to keep replacing the coils every 70K or so. I'm having the same problem many others are on high mileage, the engine sputters under high load now. Should a guy bite the bullet and replace both coils at the same time, or save the extra $100 and wait till the other one goes?

I've heard good things about both of these options. Unfortunately, they're $500-$1000, unlike coils which are $100 apiece. Thanks for the feedback.

You dont need aftermarket coils. Mine still push my heap around and I run it at near 30psi daily. Stock ignition (Even the wires).

Do the HKS DLI2, its such a wonderful product and you can run a .028 gap on any psi.

and when i had my 2005, i blew sets of stock wires. I bought the ralli arts and the car ran great. i was running 30 psi with 100% meth on stock turbo daily and for some reason with the HKS dli2 installed my wires couldnt hack it

Thanks for all the input. Think I'll try one more stock coil. I have the magnacore wires but still running the stock plugs. Maybe I should be running something else?

I also have the magnacore wires. ditch the stock plugs, and go with the "cooler" ones NGK BPR8ES! same set up. maybe even the NGK "7"'s will be great for your HP.

I did not need the ignition kit until i hit mid 600 whp on a mustang dyno, but i just put in the extreme motorsports kit and love it, I read about the hks and its on back order, but it has a tendence to burn up the aem is the best but it had a recall in september of 2005 and the one i got, works great, I feel it on high boost

Sorry for this newb question...

So are those inputs by year of the car, respectively? (03 = 300, 04 = 350... etc...)
