HELP!!! Leaking coolant

I need some help. I have a slow drip of coolant coming from the passenger side of my car. Overnight left a pretty big puddle underneath. What do you think it is comming from? Water pump? or something else. When I am at idle the temp gauge rises but when I am driving it falls to the normal level. Suggestions/ Comments please! Thanks.

could be a leaky hose, loose clamp, could be the water pump, just get under the hood and try to see whats wet, just follow your nose and you should have no problem locating that pesky leak

You either have a failed water pump or the freeze plug by popped out....

I just read your problem that you had with yours evil evo. Its just a slow drip though so It could just be a small leak. I'm gonna try to get under my car b4 I go to work tonight. If not it will have to wait till monday and I will take it to a dealer.

Did u check around the block?? See ifs leaking from the head. Check the oil and the coolant overflow tank to see if you have any oil in there

Just got under the car, there is dryed coolant everywhere. The majority of the coolant is dripping from the base of the block near where the oil pan meets it. I checked the overflow tank and it is empty. there is a little bit of fluid in there that looks like a murky lake water color. I think it is leaking from the water pump as if a gasket blew or something like that. But the whole passenger underside of the car is covered in it.

Also how safe is the car to drive if the temp gauge stays normal and I keep the coolant level high?

is your overflow bottle too full? you might be over filling it. if the temp starts to rise when you are driving it, be careful not to let it overheat, turn the heater on full blast until you can pull over. good luck

The dealer close to my house said they could look at it today so I'm on my way up there, I'll let you know what happens.

Just got back from the dealer, they said it was the water pump and it was going to cost me 655$. They wont cover it due the the MBC and the TBE. So I have two options, first put the stock **** back on and take it to a different dealer and have most of it covered under warranty. Or second do it myself w/friends. I have the whole day free on Sunday to rip off the front end and put on a new water pump. Suggestions??

The dealer also said that b/c its over a 5hr repair I may have to pay the remainder. He also said that my gauge pod may make other dealers think there were more than just gauges put on my car.
