Problems with exedy HD twin disk

Ive had the the exedy HD twin disk in for about almost 3 months. Had some issues with it before with it not dis-engaging right upshifting, and hard to get into gear. I have the decel noise, metalllic noise starting out from a stop, and the real loud throw out bearing when the clutch is pressed. Well to solve my issues with the engagement I had the clutch readjusted about 5-6 weeks ago. When moving I can grab every gear fine, high rpms are smooth, low rpms it feels notchy.

Only main concern I have is at a stop I push the clutch in and attempt to put it into first gear and it feels like it cant go in...if I push real hard I can get it in( but I dont),but once I put it back in neutral after I cant get it in, its real easy to grab all the gears. Its not only first gear from a stop, its i cant grab any gear, but once I put it back in neutral its smooth as butter. If im rolling I have no problem grabing any gear, even first. Any ideas, is it adjustment again? Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem and tried everything, adjusting the travel, swaping the extender rod, nothing seemed to work.
That's just the nature of the beast I suppose. I'll just have to bear w/ it until I do the stroker and then swap it out for something else. What, I don't know yet but there got to be better working clutch out there.

Make sure there is no air in the system, re-bleed it at the dealership! Those extender rods blow, I had one, did nothing, and AMS told me they are a waste of money. put the stocker on. check the brake fluid. Good luck, keep us posted.

Check the throwout bearing movement. We encountered this on a customer's car and it ended up that the groove on the throwout bearing was incorrect and it allowed excessive movement before capturing the snap ring assembly.

From what I was told the exedy units dont come new with a new TOB. I ordered the clutch through the same shop that installed it. Sound like they may have used the same TOB, and didnt replace it? I remember I asked spefically if I should order it, they assured me they would take care of it, but when I look back at the reciept its not the there...maybe they ate the charge? dought it. LOL come to think of it, ive had about 7 other problems with the same shop.

i have the same problem with first gear... i got a new throwout bearing according to the shop that replaced it... do they make generic throwout bearings or are they all mitsu for the evo?? I used to really hear it until i added a turbo back. First gear is slowly getting easier to get into... try rocking it... back to n or 2nd and then to 1st... works for me everytime... i also replaced the brushings but couldn't tell that much of a difference. But, i can do a 2step launch slipping it out without smelling anything burning which is nice.

I had the same peoblem on my 03 when i had it same clutch. However, after about 4~6 months everything got much better on its own and first gear started to get sooth and everything was great. I think the clutch just need time to braken right and I gave it its time.

The only problem i had is some time when slowing down from 4th to 3rd gear it wont get in but it will always get in if I am trying to go fast. Weird but never knew why. oh it would go in from 4th to 3rd 80% but the solution was to rev it in 4th or push a bit of gas then slide it into 3rd.
