Forge RS BOV Mounting

Ok, I bought a Forge RS to use with my GT30 turbo installation and am ready to mount it. I noticed that if I mount it in the regular position that the top of it will push up into the radiator hose by quite a ways. How do most people mount them? I sent a PM to Mike at Forge but got no response. I know some have mounted the regular Forge BOV backwards; it looks like if I mount the RS backwards that I will have plenty of room. Should I do that? Any help appreciated.

Are you sure you aren't already doing it backwards? The ratchet knob should be point sideways, not straight up. The "top" should be horizontal, so it shouldn't mess with the radiator hose unless you have a special intake pipe that throws everything off.

??? Are you sure YOURS is not backwards, too? Maybe I didn't understand the bottle reference, but the "top" should be sideways, not pointing up.

Like this:

Here it is hidden beneath the radiator hose with no clearance issues:

Your car looks different? That first pic is just with the entire intake removed while we were installing the ported/coated stuff. That's why it looks like VTA, I guess, haha. You can see, though, that the bottom outlet of the BOV is pointing directly to where the intake hole is in the stock, rubber MAF pipe. That's how yours should look. Your car should also not fail to run just because you put the BOV on backwards. I think you may have made a mistake somewhere during your installation.

The thought process? I do not appreciate the idiot comment on here, it is just look you said to my face. I do not take those kind of things lightly. Next time try to think about what your posting about a complete stranger.

I heard they are going to add a section on the ACT about BOV installation.

Gaulrich, concentrate on fixing your BOV installation. I'm certain you have yours backwards...

Mounting Forge RS BOV

OK, duh - now I get it thanks to Warrthalon's photos. The Forge RS mounts sideways and fits perfectly. I had the pressure/suction piping backwards in my mind. Thanks for the help Warrthalon.

This is how the valve should be mounted there should be no need to mount it anyother way.

you can't mount the new forge RS BOV backwards. you could do that on old ones.
you have to be bit creative here. I would buy an pipe that is the same size as the bov outlet and a turbo hose that fits the pipe. then put the pipe into the intake and connect the bov between your UICP and the pipe.
Or, you can do what I did. get a heat wrap or thermal tapes. Then, just wrap around the BOV.

edit: buy the L shaped pipe
