05 MR dyno results

Dynoed at tqfreaks in portland today. Made 279hp & 258 tq with helix tbe straight pipe, buschur filter, and dynoflashed.

Pretty dispointed, Im not sure they know what there doing with the evos because on one run I made 520tq. LOL, and they couldnt ever get the rpm pick up to work on the evos. My helix exhaust melted into my bumper because the exhaust was sitting right on the bumper both three pulls and no one told me. The muffler is covered in the bumper material and the muffler opening in the bumper is melted to **** with an indent from the muffler tip.

Let me know your thoughts.

I say take it to a different dyno. As per the melting on the bumper, you should get a carbon fiber shield from authorithy, they run around $100 and they look nice as hell that way you can save your money by not having to buy a new bumper.

What type of dyno was these?

My car made 276hp and like 284 tq on a dynojet in the summer my mods are TBE and a mail in Dynoflash. Also my bumper got melted too due the exhaust tip touching the it. The strap pused the exhaust to the side. I just got the CF exhaust bumper cover to fix that.

Hmmm.. Not so stellar numbers. Maybe you should rethink your mods. My '05 MR dynoed at 249.3 whp on a DD dyno. That dyno shows numbers about 13% lower than a local Dynojet.. That would translate to about 280+ whp on a Dynojet and my car is completely stock except for XEDE......
Oh yeah, I have not had the EVO dynoed at the Dynojet, but my '92 Miata Dynoed 91 rwhp on the DD dyno and 103 whp on the Dynojet. BTW, that Dynojet is very well calibrated and used by a lot of folks around here....

If the Dynojet where you tested your car is calibrated like the one in my area, your whp in a DD dyno would be around 244.... And that's with a lot more mods than mine

This is probably a bad time to tell you, but your car w/ the XEDE, HF cat, and stock airbox made 272whp/ 285TQ up at FAME's Mustang dyno. FAME's dyno reads ~9% lower the Torque Freaks dynojet (I have dyno'd at both w/ the same setup).

They have a hard time w/ the RPM pick up there. I had three runs and only the last one did I get a good run.

You might want to call up Al and see if he can help you get to the bottom of this. You might want to check for boost leaks too.

^Before he does all that, I think he should take it to a different dyno.

I know what it made at Fame. Im not disapointed in the tune, the car is feeling very good, it rips all the way through the gears.

Also were tehy doing 3rd or 4th gear pulls at fame? We did 4ths at TQF.
TQF tq numbers are so ****ed on the evo its not funny, every evo on the dyno made 15+less tq then hp.

I guess the only true test is the track. It will be done and im sure the traps will show the true hp.

BTW the a/f were beautiful, kinda a stupid sheet because it goes by speed, I like the rpm better, but the a/f are in the low-mid 11s.

6 speeds were dyno'd in 4th and 5 speeds in 3rd. As for the torque numbers, mine were the same at Torque Freaks as they were at FAME.

Nope just the flash controlled. Did you ship that yet? I havent been in Eugene since early Friday.

The tq numbers are off at tqf. Look at ceasars numbers, look at the other guys numbers, since when are tq number always lower then hp?? Like I said my first pull I made 500tq. Enough said. The 06 mr that english racing did, made 369hp and like low 300tq.
