Do not use GL-4 in either the TC or the Diff. They both use GL-5 or Mitsu Hypoid gear oil. Only the transaxle(transmission) uses GL-4. I've changed all three several times DO NOT confuse which oil goes into which place. The TC and Diff both hold the same amount .58 quart. I use a small pump from Pepboys that fits on the top of the bottle to pump the fluid in.

so i should use this stuff for the rear diff and Transfer case, and some other oil for the transmission. I want to use the fluids where i dont have to change it out every 3,000 miles or so forget which one it was that people were using that was great but you had to change it out frequently.

[QUOTE=sophic][quote] Did you use Mitsubishi Diaqueen lube

shuuuure DIDN'T. thanks for asking.

but i was thinking the same thing about double checking it later.
Looks like you may get a 2nd chance to do this again , with a new T-case .

Other fuilds that stock have tosted T-case's .

A gallon a Dinaqueen is way cheaper than a new $2000 T-case

If you don't want to use the Mitsu fluids then you better make sure you put the correct fluid in the correct place. The Trans uses GL-4 and the TC and Rear Diff both use GL-5. I use Redline products but I am VERY careful to keep straight what fluid to put in. If you put the wrong fluid in the wrong place as previously stated you will be looking for a new piece for your drivetrain.

Lets make a bet; In 1 month if nothing goes wrong. ill shoot you a pm to let you know.

In 3 months you have to post on this thread, and tell everyone that you don't know what your talking about.

In 6 months you have to wear a dress and post pictures on evom.

if i'm wrong i'll buy a new tranfercase and tell everyone you were right.
deal?

You dont change anything every 3000 miles. Not even your oil. I do mine ever 5000.
BG is transmission fluid. Your suppose to change that every 30k miles according to the manual, however, I think 20k is a better idea. Its is reccomended to change your TC and Rear (using Mitsu Diaqueen) every 15-20k.

As said many times above, you should only use Mitsubishi DIAQUEEN LSD Oil in your transfer case. If you think you know better, please give Jon at TRE a call and explain to him the chemistry and physics behind what makes the stuff you're using better. I am sure he will be able to educate you.

It sounds like Jon has done well to educate you, why don't you save us all the trouble and explain the "Chemistry and Physics" on why we "should" use Diaqueen.
go ahead, I give you permission.

After that you can stop high jacking my thread.

You make a good moron . This guy is telling you not to use other fluids in your TC/Rear because others have destroyed them. If you knew jack-shiit you would have put Diaqueen in there in the first place. He said what I was going to say. A guy who builds and modifies transmissions, differentials and TC's SAID to follow Mitsu guidlines and USE the Diaqueen... yet youre still looking for answers and criticizing people who are trying to steer you in the right direction

Listen dude, you really need to calm down.

My suggestion for advice was for everyone else, cause I never ask for it... remember that’s not why this thread was started.

I would argue more but there’s really no point.

I don't care what you use in your TC; don't worry about what i put in mine.

Smile

I apologize to everyone for sounding like someone who does not take helpful advice.

Unfortunately, the one thing that I learned for sure from being on the internet is that there are plenty of people willing to give you advice from someone else's experience and not their own. This kind of information can sometimes be helpful, but sometimes misleading.

What makes it worse is when people claim to be giving you advice, but then do it in a manner that is demeaning because you didn't make the same decisions that they did or see the answers as clearly. It is really easy to insult people when you're not sitting face-to-face.

Sorry cheerleader, didn't mean to be a jerk.

Enough of this Saturday morning special bulls**t.

Have a day!
