Look up a samco turbo inlet hose. It is made of 5 layers which does not allow it to swell or stretch. I have put them on WRX's and worked great. These hoses are very tough. The thing that makes them better than aluminum is the heat transfer. Has anyone installed one and dynoe'd it?

There is no way a stock plastic hose can come close to the silicon hose. The stock one sucks and expands under boost. But aftermarket silicone hoses do not. Works great on audi's and volkswagen's, also WRX/STI's but haven't really heard anyones experience with an evo.

I thought with the "stock" intake pipe, there is a reason for the "ribbing" of the hose/tube. I can't remember why, but I thought it is important. I have never heard of the setup you talk about. ALL THE BIG TUNERS dont have it, so I assume there is a reason they dont. Probably doesnt work.my 2c

Any dual funnel intake with a tune. ie RMR intake, Apexi intake or Buschur Racing Air Filter etc. HKS is also dual funnel but I won't use it for daily driving only for track or racing events.

A lot of tuners use it on other vehicles. Thats why I am asking. It is the same shape as all of the aftermarket aluminum pieces. Its just made of a tough 5 layer silicon. The only reason I like it, is that it doesn't transfer heat like metal does.

They will all make the swoooosh. LOL I have put this on an 8. It worked great. The shape is the same as every aftermarket intake pipe. Its silicon. Not as much heat. Come on. Can anyone comment on that. I already know the blitz sus filter will out perform any other, so if i do the hks i will swap it for the blitz filter anyway.

Pretty much its like this.

HKS intake $333
Samco hose with a blitz filter $210
