Why wouldn't it work on a IX. The VIII and IX are the same when it comes to the intake.
God damn your dumb, this is the third response of your that I've read in the past 30 min that is just completly stupid.

Glad someone else is noticing. It's like someone opened up a can of stupid on this guy in the last week or so.

- He tried to challenge me in public and expected me to drive 850 miles to race him when he's never accomplished anything whatsoever
- In that same thread, he tried to convince all of EvoM that humidity HELPS make more power and that dry air made him run slow at the track.
- He tried to say that AEM EMS is a piece of junk and that flashed ECUS are far better because of his new, bogus MD numbers
- He tried to also say that the Exedy Twin sucks just because he knew one guy that had a problem with it, despite the fact that tons of Evos are already using the Twin with great success
- Now, he's acting like the intakes on the Evo are different or something, when there's absolutely no change

Lets not get off topic with some annoying kid. Will somebody with the hose actually installed, or somebody that has installed both kinda give me your opinion.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks now. Initially it did do something but I'm not sure what. At first I didn't reset my ECU and after install the car idled lower than usual. So after the first day I simply reset the ECU and let the car relearn its tune. Since then the car has been pretty much rock solid and as normal as it can be considering the mods I have.

In all honesty, I didn't notice anything different (better or worse) with the Samco induction hose. My AFR/tune didn't change. The intake sound didn't get any louder than before. You can barely see the pipe so it didn't add any bling. The car doesn't feel any faster. Maybe this type of hose would be better if installed AFTER the turbo where there's actually pressure applied to it. In summary I am guessing the stock turbo can only suck just soo much through its little mouth and the stock plastic piece apparently can provide enough flow to meet its demands.

Has anyone tried adding a drop-in filter in addition to an intake induction hose?

I have both the K&N and a Samco Induction Hose. It's still no where near as loud as a conical filter.

I originally had the BR intake. It caused me some grief. When in 5th gear and attempting to pass a car on the highway the MAF readings would jump all over the place and sometimes cause the car to cut fuel.

When I switched back to the stock airbox I noticed a very nice bump in power. I didn't notice the difference when switching to .... but when going back ... It was very noticeable that the stock airbox with high pressure feed is definately more high perf than an open conical in an oven like engine bay.

Tuned for an intake...... has anyone actually explained how you tune for varying MAF freq? Sure you may need to adjust AFR due to a difference in airflow or simply intake air temps but if your maf is losing its marbles at high loads the only thing you can do is increase the freq range it reads and pretend its "tuned".

What about the differences in heat....water sprayers work to drop heat. Metal reatains heat alot more than the silicon.
