Best intake?

What would be a better choice.

Forge Turbo Inlet hose with a blitz SUS filter or
HKS suction intake.

I know the forge turbo inlet will not consume as much heat, and the blitz filter is much better than any oil based filter.

I am not a newb to evo's just to this forum. I wanted other owners opinion. I know the HKS is the best as aftermarket intakes, but I think that a silicon hose with the best filter should work better. I have put that setup on some cars, but never dyno's them or raced another one with the HKS intake. I am just looking for opinions to who thinks which is better. I am not going to go search for older threads.

Well then welcome kinda. HKS is worse than Blitz filter, (english study) Stay stock (I am still) unless you are going to tune the car for the filter. (You can lose HP if you dont) I would stay with a K&N drop in. stock airbox is good for 550ishAWHP. I cant say anymore, I am sleepy. Look it up with a good old search.

newbies newbies newbies. luckily i'm nice (yeah right). unless you're pushing 400whp+, keep the stock airbox. a new option theat looks good & works well is Blitz's new induction cover. uses a drop-in with the top of the airbox open & with your curved tube creates a "ram air" setup that sounds mean.

I am going to have mine tuned by Jestertuning in orlando. Your wrong though. Dyno's have showed an extra 11 horse on the HKS intake opposed to a K&N drop in after tuning. I just want to know if you guys think a silicon turbo inlet with the blitz filter would do better?

No, I was right, I said it would COST you HP WITHOUT a tune.(with an intake OTHER than stock) since the car was on the dyno, I think it was tuned! slap on and go, you will be down some. What are you talking about the silicone? there is the stocked ribbed piece, and after market aluminum/metal ones. Are you talking about replacing this part with a silicone hose? Never heard of it, if it worked, ALL top shops would be using it.

silicone does not seem to work well under boost as it swells. i use to have the Perrin UICP on the '03 & gained 15whp when i removed it & went back to the stock piping. silicone does work great for the radiator hoses though.

Is that true? I thought thats why one buys the silicone, because the stockers "baloon". I was getting silicone hoses, a waste?
