DEFI BF boost Peaked @ 1.5 bar STock?

Thought I'd post a thread about it.

Installed my DEFI Boost gauge the other day and the next day I got on it in I believe 4th gear maybe 3rd...but saw the gauge SHoot up (like normal) and thought it was normal...but then thinking about later after I got out of the car what 1.5bar means in PSI...I said damn...how'd I it hit that?

Stock boost is 19-psi to taper right?

what is boost cut @?Got on it today and gauge went to a little above 1.0+ bar I think not 100% but know it wasn't 1.5.

Just a fluke or what

some people have said that the Defi BFs are inaccurate at times. Yours could have been a boost spike ... who knows.

I constantly see my boost hit 1.6bars during cold weather but i doubt if that's accurate given all i have is a TBE (with cat). I don't see any fuel cut so that's another reason for me to believe that my BF is accurate as well

I had the same thing happen yesterday and was about to post this same question! I peaked at 1.52! I've only got a DP-back, figured something had to be off

1 Atmosphere is ~14.7psi
1 Bar is ~14.5 psi

There is a difference kiddos!

On my '05, I regularly indicate 1.5-1.6 bar peak when I depress the throttle to maximum position and hold it in 4th or 5th gear. It then tapers off to about 1.2 bar. This has only been in the 30-50 degree Fahrenheit weather of winter. In summer it peaks lower.

How accurate is my Defi BF Amber boost gauge? Dunno...haven't had anything to compare it to. Mine is T'd in by the fuel pressure regulator with as short runs of line as possible.

I have heard of inacuracies in pressures reported by the mechanical Defi gauges, but the Link Meter gauges are supposed to be pretty accurate...again what I've read/heard.

Just another data point for you.

What mods do you have. A bit of a boost spike is not uncommon in our evos.

Kinda have to...I work on German construction equipment and all specs are in Bar...most heavy construction equip mechanics in US only think in PSI.

Back on track...I don;t think that this kind of peak is unusual in an '05 in cool weather. Don't know about '03-'04's.
