Amsoil tranny oil is awsome

Just changed my tranny oil with the amsoil gl4 75 90 fully synthetic and all i can say is wow definately works really well. Shifting when the oil is cold is still like butter. There is no possible way pennzoil or bs syncroshift is better than this stuff and this oil takes a lot longer to break down than the others. I also did the transfercase with diaqueen its so much cheaper to just buy it from the dealer its 46 bucks and you can get a couple changes out of the gallon jug.

Glad you discovered it... Have been using that stuff for almost 10 years now in the evo boxes and it hasn't failed till today...I use the 80W-90 though due to the consistent hot climates over here....

Hope your bearings stay happy. Youll have to update us in 15k miles. I use Amsoil motor oil and love it though, used it on all my turbo cars (10w30.) Majority of people run non syn in the trans (BG I)

its proven synthetic oil lasts longer than regular oil and that it lubricates better. I think to many people jump on the bandwagon on here and just agree with what the majoirty of the people say

Many people are comparing stock fluids that have been in the tranny for 10 15 20k+ miles which isnt really a fair comparison.. hell even fresh stock fluid would "feel" better

I'm not trying to imply anything about YOUR review... I'm just saying something to the same effect as you just posted.. many people will jump on the bandwagon.

I really want to give BG2 a try.. I used BG1 for a while with no issues. I think Buschur put in syncromesh when they did my clutch but I'm not sure.

i used redline in my 03 8 in tranny and it definetly made a difference. I only have 2500 miles on my 06 BR350 #005 so i have a decision tomake when i change the drivetrain fluids. royal purple, amsoil, or redline. i,ve been using amsoil in my 63 dodge for the last ten years and it shifts like butter even when cold. that monster has a 440 40 over with all the goodies. about 450 hp and over 500ft.lbs. of tq. and it makes that 833 4 speed shift smooooth

I understand what your saying. But it calls for GL4 and AMSoil makes a gl4. I thougt it would be better than switching to something that would void the warrenty.

I'm not an expert but isn't there an issue when you reduce friction too much - ie feels smooth now, but is harder on the synchros over the long term? That's why so many people use BG (not "bs" btw) Synchroshift I, non-synthetic. Search, there's been lots of posts on this topic. Just don't want you to drop a synchro after 10,000 more mi. Sorry to stir the pot.

I am using BG Synchroshift in my MR. At first it felt great, now it's not as great (6,000 miles since last change). I think you need to change the transmission fluid more frequently if you use the BG. I may try Amsoil and see how it goes.
