When out of no were I get this code P0442: Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (Small) So I'm figuring there is a hole in one of my evap lines. But the problem is I dont know where my evap cannister is i n the Evo's?? So can anyone tell me where the evap cannister is... and or give me advice on this problem??? Thanks.

Is it a Heater-core evap canister? I think those are in the dash. Good luck, wish I could help.

What caused your P0137 code and how did you fix it?

I didnt fix it. Im still trying to figure out a way to get the damn code to go away. I think that this weekend Im going to uninstall the Perrin O2 simulator and then re-install it and see if that takes care of it. I'm also planning on doing a voltage reading on the O2 sensor to see if it is getting any voltage. Im hoping that I ddint kink any of the wires and damage the O2 sensor. I also have no idea which evap cannister it is. Thats what the OBDII Scan reader rold me was that I have a P0442 code. Not sure which evap cannister it is???

Okay when did your P0137 start?

I had a P0134 (zero activity) when stock, dealer put an new o2 in
Got a P0138 after 1000 miles with mech fix on a TBE, but the sensor had gathered water on it making me think I had messed it up.

I dreid and cleaned the sensor, Put the Perrrin o2 sim in, removd the mech fix and was fine for another 500 miles, then got P0139.

I put in the OEM cat and cleaned the o2 sensor and havent got any cels. Therefore

1. Cleaning didnt ruin the sensor
2. The perrin O2 sim was prolly working ok. If it was naffed it wouldnt have worked for 1000 miles (the wiring was good and solid), or if it was naffed, chances are I would still be getting a cel with it in there.

My conclusion...

The O2 sensor got soaked with the mech fix, due to it being at a downward angle from the mid pipe and collecting water.

Removing the mech fix and cleaning the sensor cured the problem, until the sensor, whcih was nice and dry now, got completely cover in carbon, now that it was in the impure exhaust stream.

My understanding is that the perrin o2 sim can only do so much signal modifying. If the sensor is sending really wack signals (very high or very low voltage, or no signal at all (cause it is dead, or u removed the sensor), you will get a P013xx.

Cant help with the P04XX code, sorry.

Thanks for the advice. However I dont want to remove my cat delete pipe and put the stock cat back in. So Im looking for a fix for this damn O2 sensor code. The tech guy at Perrin told me that he knows a couple of people that have had this sort of a problem with the 05 and up Evo's. Why?? I have no idea. The ony thing that I can say is that one of my friends has a 2003 Evo. We installed a full exhaust on that car with the perrin O2 simulator, and guess what no check engine code, no problems. I get my 2005 MR, and since then I figured out that my perrin downpipe isnt going to work, Im going to have to get one of the new ones that is going to be released, I have thrown several P0137 check engine codes with no solution in sight, and etc.... down the damn line. It's driving my freaking nuts.
