Thats a very real possibility but we still shouldn't jump to conclusions until the code has been pulled.

Most likely the random misfire code, its a glitch( or mitsu's ****ty coils) with alot of 03 evo's. Some 03's have this code pop up once a week, some will only pop up once or never, its nothing, just clear it and be on your way...cant see it being anything else.
