Lets talk about short shifters....

Coming from DSMs I was shocked as hell when I first shifted the evo. Felt smooth as glass compared to the usually notchy mushy grinding from the eclipse. Be grateful for what you have you spoiled bastards!

However, it sounds like GgreyEVOIX is trying to keep his warranty, since he sold all his aftermarket parts.
GgreyEVOIX; If you suspect some major damage, I suggest that you change out your tranny fluid with the factory oil @ the dealership. If your problem goes away, then it was probably just metal shavings in the tranny (which is normal from break in), so I would go ahead and use the Pennzoil in the next change. If it doesn't than the dealer should fix the mechanical problem under warranty since all you parts are stock.
Pennzoil syncromesh will always give you a smoother shift but keep in mind that you do trade off some gear protection under racing and extreme shifting conditions.
FYI, most evo owners change their tranny fluid every 10k miles and some as frequent as every other oil change. It really goes a long way.

Yeah change the tranny fluid. I switched to AMSOIL GL-4 shifts much better. I did mine myself around 20,000 miles. Lots of shavings on the drain plug. Look in the "how to" it should be in there. I also have a new motor mount, but I have not installed it yet.
