How shorter is it? Is it noticeably shorter than the stock?

You should be able to just rotate it so the numbers are correct. It is just screwed on.

you've over tightened it. Now you could never get it back to the original because you've over tightened the thread.

Just get another shift knob or live with it, it's not a big deal. It's not like you look at the numbers anyway. lol If you do, you got some serious problems.

You probably overtightened it, unscrew it and try again. If it's still really off try putting a small washer on the threads then putting it on. Or you could always go monkey-grip and keep turning it til it's right.

Thinking about getting this also. Did you get the brass shifter and underhood bushings also? A few people on this board have complained that the shifting is too stiff after putting in the shifter and brass bushings. What do you think?

I just installed this last weekend and I really like it. I got the kit so I got all the in-car and underhood bushings- I haven't installed the under hood bushings but I did all the inside stuff. At first it was noticeably more stiff, but once you get used to it (doesn't take very long) you will really like it!

Awesome, thanks v8killer! Can't beat that price from Lacershop. Can you use any shift knob with the Lancershop shortshifter?

I just got the B&M sport shifter and will be installing it this weekend. My shifter requires some cutting though...but it's supposed to be a 40-45% reduction.....hope all goes well.

The LS shifter uses the thread as the stock as far as I can tell. I just screwed my stock right on. Mine is not cooked or anything like someone else was saying
