Whats even more funny is the DHRD (DH Research Division) is right around the corner from my house.

The lack of knowledge on this board could fill the grand canyon... First of all, the sprayer is usefull any time you are WOT pulls because the evaporative cooling effect of the water on the IC will cool the charged air better, making it denser and giving your more power. Secondly, in auto mode, the sprayer is monitored and works off of the engine duty cycle, so it isn't just spraying all the time. It does come filled with washer fluid because it has a higher evaporation point than water, which will cool the intercooler better. I run distilled water because I don't want deposit build up the IC. The guy who was thinking of running rubbing alcohol, it's a good idea, but I think that it would ruin the rubber components of the system (hoses, seals) so be careful. Hope you all are a little smarter now....

Water in spray bottle

I talked to my local mitsu tech about what to fill the intercooler spray bottle with. Mitsu are recommending water because they are not keen on the corrosive effect of washer fluid on the intercooler over a long period of time. I reccomend R/O water (no nasty lime or impurities) - you can get it in large quantities very cheaply at your grocery store.

Where is it at and what do you put in it

If you are in areas where it can freeze washer fluid is recommended to prevent freezing. Otherwise water is fine. The washer fluid for the front and back is located the trunk behind a panel on the passenger side. The resovoir for the ic sprayer is by the air filter.

because it's hard to drain the thing and put an antifreeze mixture in during colder months.
