hey I got a question regarding the drivetrain. If your putting down 500-550whp do you need to worry about your drivetrain breaking if your only doing highway runs and no launching?

I like the kit though.. Spool up was nice .. overall they did a great job on the car. Good luck

You all are absolutely correct; I know that if I really want to get the full potential out of this turbo that I will need to go to meth or some other form of injection. Until I build my motor, I would think it to be a good idea to leave everything where it is. As it stands now, I have a very solid tune, and the car performs great!

Turbotrix: Thanks so much for a great tune. I was shocked at how quickly you all were able to do the tune, and the car runs beautifully!

Thanks,

caelin~

How long did the tune take?

The tune only took about 3 hours from beginning to end. It was all done on their dyno, and also included switching out my boost controller for a Hallman.

I now understand why Turbotrix has such an amazing reputation for great work and good numbers!

My expensive HKS boost controller just blew out the other day. Seems I will be getting a manual controller for now, low on funds now.

You can make 500WHP quite easilly on the stock bottom end and is within limits. Getting ALKY will also bump your torque by alot, you really are missing out here on some real power.

You can make it, but doesnt mean it will last long. With 500+whp...there's no room for error.

I'd have to agree with staying on a similar tune to this.. just based on what we've seen this kit do on just 23 psi it's definitely going to pay off when the motor is built and boost is jammed up.

can't wait to catch a ride in it.

It isn't the power that kills these motors (Too a point, dont try to make 6-700+++)

It is the Detonation and higher reving. Adding Alky gets rid of the chances by ALOT and if you keep your revs at 8000, you are fine, 500WHP is fine with a proper tune. There are nuts at 550WHP for a couple of years now on a stock block.

Detonation will kill ya, not the power (again to a point)

I think locam is more worried about alky kits failing on him when he is on high boost. he might tune it again with race fuel in the future.

locam, congratz on the number!! Even though the torque is a little on the low side, it's going to be a monster once you build your motor.

BTW, I painted my headlight black, and ordered same hood as yours(kaminari).
We'll be like ISP twins! haha
