what is the WR, where do i get it, and how much power are people making?

ive read that it boosts faster than stock, looking for info on it, looking to upgrade my turbo, and spool fast, and make more power! thanks!

I made 415whp with it, a lot of people bought into the tuner bashing that went on between Buschur and FP due to some distribution issues, but it's the same exact turbo that Buschur sells now as a 20G-9, albeit with the Evo 8 compressor cover.

Same hotside.
Same cartridge.
Same compressor wheel.

You can get them from FP with the 9 housing, but the only thing that you'll gain is some surge protection. I found that the thing doesn't surge with the 8 cover unless you're asking it to make 28psi and you should also NOT use a stiff DV spring, as this will make the surging worse.

 

it comes on quick, will run to 23 lbs from start to finish ( that I have seen, I think I have seen posts claiming 25)
I have an aftermarket emc, doubt if the stock solenoid would do the trick.
it is a stock turbo with a different wheel. cost around 1600

^^ You are exactly right. In my above post I told them to search and then searched myself. I got the same results.

I think you can pick up one of these used for a good price, I'd keep an eye on the for sale forums.

 

PF no longer sales the WR to the public... because they are sold through Buschur.

 

Mine will be up for sale in a few weeks. In all honesty I have loved every minute that this turbo was on the car. Just the power output is fantastic, and when you add meth into the mix the fun is even greater.

I'll be sad to see it go. If I didn't have the 3065 coming I would have no problems keeping it.

 

I thought that the spool of it was almost identical to stock...am i wrong??
