I have a few buddies with evos and they told me it's much easier to launch with the 5 speed than the 6 speed. But if the 6 speed is smoother it might be worth it.

I was always told the 5 speed was stronger than the 6 speeds. I perfer a trans that is alittle harder to shift, I know the guys that race there Mustangs and Cameros that use racing trannys, there trannys are really hard to shift, and there **** is unbreakable

My Cobras tranny was a little hard, but the clutch was very stiff. I think im leaning towards the 5 speed.

Can you tell me how the 6 speed would be any harder to launch, I don't get that.

i understand that the 5 speed is not as smooth as the 6spd for the VIII's.

i've heard/read that the 5spd on the IX's were improved though. is this true? is it improved to the point where it's as smooth as the 6spd on the IX's?

a lot of times people are referring to the 5spd in the VIII's, and i don't know if that 5 spd is the same as the VIII. i know that the gear ratios are changed for the IX's, but is the 5 spd on the IX also improved?

the 05 VIII gsr i drove, the 5 spd was perfect for me. my s2k's 6 spd is a bit too smooth for me....makes me feel like i'm not really driving a manual cuz it's so smooth...if that even makes sense @_@
