?? for those with the Ebay o2 housing?

This weekend I installed the ebay o2 housing as well as a new turbo and my ported exaust manifold. I can now hear the turbo spool up like a jet plane. The first time I heard it I thought it was a police siren behind me. That is exactly what it sounded like. Has anyone else noticed this? I have the stock airbox so I may hear this noise more than those with an aftermarket intake who have always heard the turbo.

You have a boost or exhaust (after turbo) leak.

Boost is rock solid. Does not sound like an exhaust leak.

Hey Ed, I had the ebay 02 on for a few days, it louder than stock o2 but its sound more like air rushing in rather than a siren sound. Usually a high pitch siren sound is a bad indication of a turbo going bad, hope this is not the case for you.

no extra noises when I installed the 02 housing. What type of turbo did you install? One of the aftermarket 9-20G's makes quite a bit of noise. I forget if it was the five blade impeller or the six blade that makes the noise, but there is at least one thread on it.

Sounds like a pretty bad exhaust leak. The only way you will hear the turbo spool like that is through the exhaust. Even if you have a exhaust leak that wont make you lose boost at all, has nothing to do with holding boost. I did the ebay o2 housing and I cant hear my turbo spool anymore or less than I could with the stock one. A exhaust leak would be pretty noticeable though.
