WORKS clutch line problem???

Any comments or potential solutions would be recommended.

I brought my car into the dealership to have them resurface the rotors and put new brake pads on under warranty. Since the car was already in the shop I figured I would just have them install the WORKS TKS Clutch Line.

Well I heard it took a good couple of hours as they were having problems bleeding the system properly when doing the clutch line install but did manage to get it bled properly.

I drove the car over the last couple days and things seemed good. Then I noticed that on 2 different occasions once on Thursday and once on Friday I have been at a stop and have had the clutch just barely engaged and while I am in the process of releasing the clutch and giving gas to move the car from a stop I have noticed that the clutch the pedal sticks briefly and rebounds really slow as I am letting it back up.

It's only done this twice so far in about the last 150 miles of driving. Since I didn't have this problem in 13000 miles on the factory clutch line I was wondering if there could there still be an air bubble in the clutch line that only surfaces at a certain point while driving and engaging/disengaging the clutch that is causing this symptom?

Should I take it back to the dealership and have them re-bleed the system again?

Thank you for any help!

Switch it back to stock line and see if the problem reoccurs. If not, the ss clutch line is at fault..

their ss brakelines had some issue before and i believed its been resolved.

Works makes excellent products... I would more likely assume improper installation before a problem with the line.

Most likely, a leak (did they re-use the copper crush washers, or improperly tighten down), or there is air in the line. Evo clutches are hard to bleed for someone who isn't very skilled at it.

Thanks for the info. I was able to get a hold of WORKS on Saturday and my assumptions were right about there being an air pocket/bubble in the line.

I will be taking it back to the dealer Tuesday and have them do a complete bleed of the line again. This time I am bringing the evomoto.com article about proper line bleeding since they didn't do it right the first time.

I have the stock clutch line going back in, so we will see if the problem persists. If not, the line as stated above would be the likely culprit.

If the problem still persists, then there is something going on within the system.

Yes, you will waste your time with trying to replace it with the stock line. Evo clutch lines are a b1tch to bleed, sometimes they get very frustrating. Ask them to bleed it again.

Thats air in the system for sure.... I heard its a ***** to bleed the system on the evo, so im guessing they half assed it and you have air in your lines.

I had the same problem on my old IS300 and it was air in the lines.

Well it's DAY 3 and I have not had any issues with the stock line after they swapped the WORKS TKS line out.

The dealership used all the parts that came with the WORKS line and did not re-use the stock parts with the TKS line, I know that for a fact.

As mentioned, we'd like to take a look at the line. WORKS will reimburse you for the shipping, just please call ahead so that we can know when to expect it. Thanks!

It definitely sounds like they didn't bleed it right the first time. And probably got it right when putting the stock clutch line back in.
