awesome build! you should take that thing to some roadrace track days. your objectives (which i like) would make it a bear on the track.
thanks for the pics and write up

I'm actually considering it. I have a combo dialed in based on the stock turbo, and a combo with a larger turbo that I can swap in about 2 hours if I needed to.. This way I can run what suits my needs. The engine is the major factor and what I've been waiting on for all this time.. Not so much the build, but the money to afford to finish it.

To the EGT question, yes, its in the #1 cylinder, simply because its furthest from the fuel source and should in theory register being leaner/hotter earlier than the others. I have seen it plumbed into the #2 also, but this is where I chose.. I originally intended to put probes in all 4 runners but felt that might be overkill for the moment.

Couldnt you make a switching device that would allow to use one gauge for 4 thermocouples? Switch 1=cyl 1, switch 2=cyl 2 and etc? Maybe someone might try and see what the temperatures would be for various situations?

Or just my luck such a system already exists!

if you wanted to monitor all the cylinders you could get spa duel egt gauges, only two and you'd be done. i'm sure mj knows this route and it's still cumbersome and pretty much unnecessary, especially wehn you can't log all four.

There are a few tools out there.. I've worked with SPA gages before, I figure I'll probably get some sort of complex data logging system together first before I go too crazy with sensors and data collections. Plus it does end up being a bit of overkill.

I think those spa gauges for the dual egt are $400+
