Hello, I have both a turbo XS MBC and a greddy profec B spec 2, I would like to have the extra cash so I am going to sell the greddy if people agree with what I have to say. I figure the evo allrdy runs 18 to 19 psi so why bother with a EBC to move up 3 psi after your tuned properly. I plan to stay with the stock turbo for a while and I plan to run 20 to 22 psi depending how the car runs after the flash. So what do you think I should do? keep it or sell the greddy? I know turbo XS is not that great I might geta diff brand but for now it's turbo xs.
I used to use the profec b spec II. I personally liked it, never had an issue with it. Once it was dialed in, which is easier than people say, it held boost very well. I also liked the quick adjustability when it was a really cold or exessively hot, you can adjust it real fast on the go.
Now I use the solenoid with my AEM EMS without a hitch, and use the profec control box to tell me my boost spike/max boost.
It's all a matter of preference really. Many perfer manual boost controllers cause they are simple. But it's a pain if you don't have in car adjustability. I used the features of the greddy, specially the boost limit, if it hit to high it backs the boost down a percentage which a manual will never do for you.

i had the turbo xs and it tapered a lot...from 21-16 with the forge i taper 21-18.....i would go with a hallman...i neeeeeeever read about problems with it. the forge has been a toss up for some people. i personally havent had problems with it.... since u have the greddy ebc i think u should just use that....my friend has one and its good cause he has two settings...

Yeah I see your point I mean on my 240sx I would use it because I would increase alot of boost but I would be going from 2 or 3 psi above normal on my evo. Now I never adjust my controller if it was to hot or cold I never noticed a problem with that. The boost limit feature is nice and adjusting your boost in the car is very nice but I thought of keeping it at 1 steady boost but I can't make up my mind. As to hooking it up? that's no problem for me that's like 30 to 60 min of work. I ran the inside wire and I plan to tape the boost gauge line so all I would need to do is just install the solnoid and hook up the harness.
