replacing stock manifold with aftermarket???

Hey guys just like the title says i was wondering how much this would help out with a stock turbo. I was looking at the megan racing one. IT was pretty decently priced and didn tknow if anyone else was running it. Or any other options. Just trying to get the most out of the car since i have no access to a dyno or a good tuner except for a mail in flash. THanks alot

Matt

Just Fyi,
David @ Buschur posted some dyno results on stock vs. after market and I believe at the end of the day, it seemed that a ported stock manifold out flowed many aftermarket manifolds.
I remember reading the post a few months ago.

You do feel it on the high end but it feels like I lost some low end. You dont feel that much though. If I had to do it again I would probably keep the stock manifold and only change the O2 housing. Then again I have an 03 with the 9.8 hotside so results may vary.

yes, there are a few owners running the megan, just do a search. some have had decent results with it too.

I am installing the manifold and O2 housing in a few weeks. But from what I understand the level of improvements depend on what supporting mods you have. A stock car may only feel a little improvement on the top end, but a cammed car will have improvement across the whole powerband.

I would actually do them together if you going to do both anyway. To get to the O2 housing you have to take out the manifold.

I just read an article in Import Tuner where they put the DC manifold on an 05 and it gained approximately 10hp at the top. As for the rest of the power band though, it looked like it lost about 5. That's what I got from looking at their dyno sheets at least.

would do the manifold and a 10.5 ...o2 really is not worth it really unless you port and coat it,if you have a 10.5 you really have to watch out for boost creep and other probs. I would say port/coat manifold and port/coated 10.5...in the end its your choice good luck.
