And the SAGA continues... For some reason, after reading daWorstPlaya's post I decided to go check the receipt and it said M/T fluid. I was thinking son of a *****, they screwed this up again. I called them this morning and he confirmed it for me. He gave me 5 spd tranny fluid not LSD oil. I asked him how he f'd this up again and he said the barrel said Diaqueen and didn't know they made other stuff. I kept asking him to show me the barrel when he was pouring from, but it was in the back and he assured me it was the correct stuff. The good thing is, I can change this T/C fluid in 5 minutes now with all this practice. Moral of the story, you might want to be very careful when dealing with dealerships. The 8 year service tech had never even heard of Diaqueen.....LOL....

I'm not sure about the IX but one thing said for the VIII, including in service manual, DO NOT RUN GL5 (Mobile 1) GEAR OIL IN TRANSAXLE. When the fluid heats the stinky sulphur compounds in the GL5 will attack the brass. If this ids the case with 9's then I wouldn't run that for too long.

GL5 goes into frt and rr diff

I did my first change @ 13,900 miles on tranny and tc. Did it myself and used daiqueen in tc and bgsycoshift II in the tranny. I think I'll continue to do all my own changes.

if i didnt read this website excessively i would have had problems long ago, the dealers are so incompetent around here. i have NEVER let a dealer touch my car with a ten foot pole.

i changed the T-case out with Diaqueen (bought from lancershop) at 5,000 miles and again (recently) at 11,200 miles. i will continue to change the T-case fluids every 5-10k miles. i think this, along with not launching, will make your t-case last for a very long time.

i also changed the tranny with pennzoil syncromesh at 5k miles and again at 11k miles. I dont know about BG but with pennzoil i think its best to change it out every 5-7k miles, because its butter when u put it in, but by 7k+ miles it starts getting a bit notchy again.

-although, when i drained my tranny fluild is was still brown, and the magnet hardly any shavings on it, the fluid looked great, i went ahead and changed it and the shifter again was butter like at the last change.
