MBC problem continured
so.....the only thing i could think of was that the BOV cant hold over 17 because its leaking or something....so today i decided to take the hose off the intake part of the MBC and connect it strait back to the wastegate accuator , assuming that this would be back to stock boost.....instead i get 11 PSI!. I have no idea what else to do.
It definitely has nothing to do with the BOV.
What do you mean by "hose off the intake part of the MBC and connect it strait back to the wastegate accuator"? There is nothing on an MBC that connects to the intake. You SHOULD get 11psi, which is base wastegate pressure, if the MBC is not hooked up. What are you trying to do?
Basically, if you think you can move one hose and be back to stock boost, this means you have your MBC hooked up improperly. It takes a lot to go back to the stock setup - you can't just change one hose.
I think you're messed up because you re-used a stock vaccuum line with a restrictor pill in it.

well when it is connected it allows me to go to 17 PSI and thats it, but it does let me lower it. I took it apart today and everything was fine and all the connections seem to be fine. The only thing i can think of is the BOV.
There's no reason for it to be the BOV unless there's a huge leak from a disconnected hose or the BOV simply broke (rare). Did you not do a pressure test yet? I still think you don't have it installed properly.

Ok, now we're finally getting to the real problem. You spent 2 threads messing around without ever telling us the real problem. The real problem is you bought it this way and it was jacked up. Now, we need to teach you how the boost system works and help you either get the MBC working properly or get it back to stock.
You need to learn exactly how the MBC operates, then you need to be sure you get the OEM Mitsu boost hoses. If you don't have them, you need to buy a set from Mitsubishiparts.net for $15. I can get you the part number, but I'm pretty sure we can get the MBC working.

That's retarded, sorry (not you, but him). He was either making it up because he has no clue or he was feeding you a line of bull. What BOV is on there? The stocker? Even the stocker can handle 22psi fine without needing to be turned down. Yeah, it leaks some, but no one turns their boost down randomly just because the BOV can't hold pressure well.
I'm fairly certain this is an installation/vaccuum hose issue.
