You can get some rediculous throttle response that way and just need to tune the size of the runners. That would be badass.

There are plenty of reasons... the simple way works fine till whatever power you want and costs $500-$750. 4 throttlebodies, a way to make the tps to read right, a way to wire all them together, etc, etc... not gonna be anywhere near $500 to say the least. On top of that, you are going to want to get very nice throttlebodies so that when they are open they barely rescrict the flow... the good way to do that is use an eccentric tube so when you open the throttle it opens the circle all the way with no restrictions. Much like the throttle on a gas powered rc car works.
Why not use a design much like an exhaust header. Equal length runners leading to a throttle body located on the top center of the manifold? Kinda like my high speed rendering here that i made on my super computer

i have a question. why do most intake manis have hte velocity stacks and carry a volume that scoops well under the stacks. i noticed that the magnus (prolly not well engineered) was one of the only inmanis that had the tank end right at the velocity stacks.

And the barrel throttle I think if designed properly should be fine for part throttle. They use them on Indycars I believe which arent always at WOT. At any rate, doing anything with modifying the throttle body would be a pita and probably not worth it.
And as to why I didnt make the throttlebody in the center which would be preferable is because of the space issue. Think of your intake manifold and now try to put your throttlebody behind it. Now try to fit a 2.5" or 3" pipe coming out the back of it.... you would need to run the piping through the firewall to make it fit
Well I made another version for DSMs. Specifically highly modified ones for cars up to Sheps (extremely large throttlebodies, very high revs and big turbos). I talked with my 3D printer so I am all set with everything. I just need to print up a few mock ones out of paper and make sure all the manifolds fit correctly before getting them casted. The DSM version may require some modifications... I dont have a stock DSM anymore but I dont believe there would be much in the way even if it was stock. The Evo version has VERY tight clearances. Specifically near the top of the alternator and the ABS unit.
I will most likely be needing to make some sort of a group buy for the Evo version to help cover the cost of the initial final production versions but Ill see how it goes. The DSM version I believe I have enough people that want them that I can afford to get those ones off right away.
I will post up pics of 3D renderings that look close to real once I am all set with everything. I should be able to post the pics up by Friday of both manifolds and probably post pics of the plastic 3D versions by early next week.
I will most likely be needing to make some sort of a group buy for the Evo version to help cover the cost of the initial final production versions but Ill see how it goes. The DSM version I believe I have enough people that want them that I can afford to get those ones off right away.

Good luck. Also, you're casting them? If in fact you move ahead with the project, is a sheet metal version possible? I know the design itself will yield the performance gains, but somehing is to be said of the exclusivity of a nice welded manifold.

I will also probably talk with some locals here about getting it coated on the inside (And outside) to make it as smooth as possible. Not sure if that will pan out or not though. Powdercoating the outside is very easy for us to do so that could be an option if people want it.
One good thing about having it cast is the pressure it can take. It would live through any backfires and most likely even nitrous backfires. It also made it so we can put heatsinks on it in various places to help keep the intake temps down.

I'm so jealous...I don't get to use the CFD at the windtunnel that I work at...it sucks...so for my projects to be flowed they are put on a back burner...quicker for me to build it and flowbench it at our engine lab...
