this problem can only be solved by having someone look at it. I thought it would be a simple misreading like what happened to me but I guess it's something more technical.

I'm having Jamie at Works look at it. Could it be the wastegate. That's what jamie said.

Works has a pretty well-built road race car, I think, so I assume they have very good technical knowledge of the Evo. I still would want to make sure you got the OEM _hoses_, because you called it "a new stock OEM hose" as if it was singular...there's 4 hoses, though. You have to be sure the red-tipped short hose goes from the tee to the wastegate, and then the other short hose, which has a restrictor pill, goes from the tee to the turbo nipple. The long hose also has a restrictor pill and goes from the tee to the BCS. The 4th hose goes from the other BCS nipple to the underside of the MAF pipe. Make sure that's exactly how yours is setup. I highly doubt the WG just randomly broke, but it IS possible.

Also, don't listen to PTEVO. I don't know who he is or where he came from, but he apparently has an axe to grind with Dynoflash and doesn't like me either, although he's just a newbie, and we have never interacted with him anywhere on EvoM. It's appears he was previously banned and is back now with a new name that he made last year as a backup or something. I can't think of any other explanation for his blatant bashing.

on a different note, do you happen to have the part number for the hose set-up? Do you have to buy all four? I just want the one facing the front of the car with the pill in it

NJ, it comes as one package, but it only costs $14.50 at Mitsubishiparts.net. I forget the exact number, but I posted it in another thread where we were talking about this part.

It's MN143555 or something like that, so search around. Btw, there is no hose facing the front of the car with a hose in it. There's one going from the BCS to the tee and one going from the tee to the turbo outlet.

Johncy, if you have the same problem with the brand new OEM hoses as you did with the MBC, then that is very strange.

Thanks for the part number. I found the hoses on Mitsubishi parts and I will order a set. I would like to have a set handy just in case I need it.

Yeah, I did the same thing just a few weeks ago. I don't need them right now, but I wanted to have a fresh, new set handy for troubleshooting purposes (mainly for local Evos).

As Johncy mentioned the OEM lines are installed back on the car. It helped the situation some, but still below stock boost levels. There were a couple of other issues with the car that have been sorted out and we can now take more than a few minutes to fully diagnose it. The original MBC was removed because when it was adjusted you could visually see it rotating despite the fact that nothing was touching it. I told Johncy that I wouldn't feel comfortable with something like that on my own EVO and gave him the choice to leave it as is or go back to stock. Other items such as the intercooler pipe and the damaged honeycombs on the VAF have been addressed and we can start narrowing the problem down further.
